Sunshine Cafe & Yoga in Penryn

New in 2021, Sunshine Cafe is the most beautifully renovated cafe space serving fresh nutritious breakfast and lunch, as well as delicious hot drinks and cakes. Situated in Penryn, the cafe is slightly more hidden away but a real 'go-to' destination once you know about it. If you wanted to combine it with a walk, you are moments away from the trails through the Penryn Woods, or a short walk from the main Penryn high street or the hubs of activity at Jubilee Wharf and The Fish Factory on Commercial Road.

Everything about this venue has been well thought-through with attention to detail, and it's beautiful!

As well as a regular yoga schedule with skilled and well-loved teachers, Sunshine hosts one-off events such as cacao ceremonies, sound baths and mini-retreats.

They are also holding mini creative markets and have a host of festive things planned for the Winter season. I can't wait!

In their plan to be a truly valuable space for the local community, Sunshine are offering a free yoga class each week as well as a meditation session on Sunday evenings which is donation-based.

In the Sunshine Cafe courtyard are also the Healing Rooms - purpose built spaces for massage and self-care practitioners to make us all feel as good as we can! There are a range of treatments available from reflexology to traditional Swedish massage to lymphatic drainage sessions.

You can sit and work inside at the cafe with a laptop and the guidelines are 1hr with drinks and cakes or 2.5hrs with a breakfast or a lunch. This is so reasonable, allowing freelancers to enjoy the space and enjoy gorgeous food for a similar cost to any hot-desking rental space in town.

If you're on a really tight budget then Sunshine is best for a coffee rather than a breakfast or lunch, because meals are on the more expensive side. This makes total sense to me as they all use high-quality superfood ingredients and are made freshly in-house. If I'm saving my pennies I would happily go just for a drink with a friend or treat myself to one of their healing lattes - beetroot, tumeric or macha, if I fancy a break from caffeine. They also have a range of Yogi Teas and You & I kombucha as well as homemade juices. It's easy to overindulge and want to buy one of everything!!

The yoga studio is a beautifully decorated tranquil space, and this peaceful and warm vibe continues through the main inside area and upstairs to the mezzanine floor where there are sofas as well as bar-stool perches. You can also eat outside when the weather is nice, in the glorious white-washed and wooden courtyard which is terraced up to the side of the building.

Dogs are welcome in the cafe, and it's also really accessible for prams and wheelchairs with a ramp at the main entrance. I always get a lovely welcome when arriving there and totally recommend it as a lovely place to go.
