Whilst it's difficult to make solid plans for the future at the moment, I have been putting together ideas about what Writing for Wellbeing workshops might look like in the near and socially distant future.
We have all been relishing the opportunity to spend more time outdoors, and it seems that this is a positive way to combat the virus, as well as being good for our own physical and mental health. I am lucky that I had been planning to deliver a series of 'On Location' writing workshops in the natural environment, and now seems like the perfect time to make those plans into reality.
I envisage that the first workshops that we can run again will be outdoor: writing for wellbeing inspired by nature. Group numbers will be kept very small, and I will carefully choose spacious locations where we can all stay two metres apart from each other.
Each participant will be invited to bring their own writing materials, along with any food and drink they would like. (A thermos of herbal tea or hot coffee can be an excellent aid to get the creative juices flowing!)
In this way, the communal and creative aspect of writing for wellbeing can be enjoyed, but we can also stay safe and follow all the advised precautions. I can't wait to put these plans into action and see you all face - to - distanced - face, but until then I am continuing to add resources to my social media pages, and am also developing a Writing for Wellbeing gift set which I am very excited about!
Best Wishes until we meet again,
